Field Trip/Tour/Picnic

Children of Nursery visited the Fire Station located at Memnagar area on 7^th July, 2023 during school hours.

Visiting a post office, fire station, a park, a grocery store, are excellent ways for students to learn about the world beyond their homes and families. Children learn by playing, and toys are the instruments that allow them to discover the world they live in. And this is precisely why they interact with their surroundings through toys.

An educational trip was organized to Serenity Botanical Garden on 19thApril, 2023 for the students of class V as a part of Science unit “Interdependence of Plants and Animals”. We were led to the garden, where we could find a variety of plants. Out of all these plants, students are sure to remember those that had odd characteristics. Students were also involved in the activity of Bird Watching which was well integrated with the Social Studies topic of “Mapping”.

The students of IBDP I and II visited the Science city on 2^nd March, 2023 to witness the Science Carnival organized by them.  It was a weeklong exhibition organized by the authorities of Science city to celebrate National Science Day which is celebrated on 28^th February every year. It was a great learning experience for the students to see live demonstrations of some of the most complex science concepts.

An educational trip was organized to Aquatic Park (Science City) on 1st March, 2023 Wednesday for students of grade II as a part of POI unit ‘Aquatic Animals and Their Adaptation’. It was an experiential learning where the students got acquainted with different types of aquatic animals like shark, beaver, puffer fish, star fish, turtles, lobster, penguin, etc and their adaptation. Students also observed their characteristics and special features that help them to survive in a specific habitat. It was an amazing experience for the students. 

An educational trip was organised to Sarkhej Roza and Adalaj Stepwell on 28th February, 2023, Tuesday for students of class I as a part of POI unit “My City”. It was an experiential learning where the children got acquainted with historical monuments. It was an exciting experience for the children to generate interest in historical buildings and develop their observational skills.

An educational trip was organized to Science city -Aquatic gallery on 24th February’23, for students of class I as a part of Programme of Inquiry unit “Fish”. This experiential learning got children acquainted with different types of fishes like sharks, ray fish, eels and many more. They were amazed to see a wide variety of aquatic animals like penguins, frogs, and starfish. They also learned how each animal is different from the other based on their characteristics. It was an exciting experience and learning for the children.

A field trip was organized for the students of class 1 to ‘Hathisingh Ni Wadi and Siddhi Sayed Ni Jhali’ on 23^rd February, 2023 as part of the POI unit, “My City- Ahmedabad”. The purpose of the visit was to know more about the famous places of Ahmedabad and to show the rich culture and the heritage of the famous architecture done in the olden times on the monuments in Ahmedabad. Hathisingh Ni Wadi is a sacred Jain place to worship. The students were amazed to see the astonishing architecture of the temple.

A field trip was organized for the students of class 1 to ‘Gandhi Ashram’ on 22nd February, 2023 as part of the POI unit, “My City- Ahmedabad”. The purpose of the visit was to know more about the famous places of Ahmedabad and to familiarize them with the famous personality ‘Gandhiji -The Father of the Nation’. They were already familiar with the ‘speak no evil, hear no evil, and see no evil’ monkeys and were thrilled to see them. They also observed different types of charkha. Indeed it was a knowledgeable trip for the students.

Students of class II visited Traffic Park, Ahmedabad on 17^th February,2023 as a part of POI unit “Communication”. They explored the “Traffic Park” and were able to use their knowledge and identify the signage. They interacted with the guide of the park and gathered information related to the same. Students followed the signage and enjoyed riding the bicycle. It was a wonderful experience for students.

On the 14^th of February, 2023, we went on a field trip to Ghuma. It is an open area with replicas of statues, old buildings, civilizations and much more. We left at 9:33 a.m. by bus. It took approximately 40 minutes to go from our school to Ghuma.

On 7^th February 2023, children of class V had an opportunity to connect with the historical moments of India through a visit to Gandhi Ashram- housing memorials of the father of the Nation- Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi famously known as Mahatma Gandhi.

The students of grade VII and VIII set off on their journey to Jaisalmer with their teachers. The excitement in the air was almost tangible. Non-stop chatter and laughter were heard from every compartment. After checking in at the hotel at noon, the students visited Gadisar Lake in the evening. They took pictures, shopped for souvenirs and watched a light and sound show.

The never-ending water body is filled with various aquatic animals that are interesting, unique, and mysterious. Although we have explored only five percent of the water bodies, we have already discovered around 230,000 species. 

The students of Class IV went to visit the museum at Vishala restaurant on 22nd November, 2022.  The trip was arranged to study the ancient artefacts which were made and used 500 to 1000 years ago. The objective of this trip was to expose the students visually so that they relate to the Stone Age Unit in Social Studies. They observed the collection of storage utensils, travelling water cans, betel nut boxes, toys, churners, hand grinders and a variety of kitchenware. These artefacts were collected by Mr.
