‘Freedom is hammered out on the anvil of discussion, dissent and debate’ -Hubert Humphrey. We at JGIS believe in inculcating a strong set of skills in research, public speaking and team work. We aim to transform our learners into concerned global citizens who make a significant change in the society. With this aim in mind, JGIS decided to host its first edition of JG Model United Nations Conference. The event is inaugurated with a gathering of over 250 delegates on 20^th and 21^st January, 2018. The main objective of this journey of discovery is to educate the youth in maintaining the legitimacy of the Model United Nations Conference in the Gujarat Model United Nation’s Circuit. This authentic experience of the United Nations exposes participants to different socio-economic, political and cultural prospects, keeping in mind their holistic development as delegates. This two-day collaborative endeavor is an academic simulation revolving around discourse and debate in the following committees: (a) UNGA – DISEC, (b) ECOSOC, (c) LOKSABHA, (d) SECURITY COUNCIL and (e) INTERNATIONAL PRESS. The participants will engage in arriving at meaningful solutions which is the cornerstone of democracy.
