Living in Ahmedabad, Ramdev Spices and snacks is name we are very familiar with, and today students of class 11 ISC Commerce and Humanities and IBDP-1 were given the opportunity to visit the office and factory of Ramdev Snacks! Here, they witnessed the functioning of the administrative and production units of the company. The purpose of the visit was to develop a better and more practical understanding of economics and business related concepts. This trip surely served the purpose. A fruitful an exciting experience as it turned out be, they were given a detailed description with respect to what goes into making the various food products that Ramdev snacks produces. Right from seeing the boiler plant, to seeing and knowing about the management of raw material, moving on to understanding what goes into quality check of food products, to seeing the actual production of chips, namkeen and various other food items and finally the packaging of the same, they experienced it all. It was amazing. The scale and efficiency with which the production takes place had left them awestruck.  Morever, making it all the more informative, they were given an insight to the costing of the products through a presentation. The hospitality extended towards us made the experience enjoyable to a greater extent. The warmth and patience with which everything was explained and demonstrated was commendable. We do learn a lot through textbooks, but today, a live demonstration of the work that actually goes into functioning of a firm gave all of us a better understanding and insight about the same. Also, it made the process of learning exceedingly enjoyable.
