A trip was organized  for classes V to VIII  to witness the Science Express at Khodiyar Railway Station, Ahmedabad on 6^th  September, 2017 . Classes IX  and X  also visited the same next day. The Science Express was like any other train, except that its carriages were painted white on the outside with drawings of environment-related themes and the inside was modified to house Science exhibits. The students were enthralled to see exhibits on diverse science and environment-related subjects ranging from global warming, deforestation, carbon emissions, industrial pollution, renewable energy resources, wildlife conservation to  components of healthier lifestyles. A highlight of the visit was the 3-D  printed model of Hampi Temple. Students  excitedly made a  virtual visit of  the temple.The Science Express is an initiative of the National Council for  Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The Council entrusted Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC), Ahmedabad with the task of managing the Science Express across different places in India. The exhibits are wonderfully designed, and undoubtedly the concerted efforts of the two institutions to nurture and direct young minds toward scientific thinking and inculcate scientific temper among the masses is commendable.
