Visit to Kankaria (Class-III) - 2022
On 2nd September 2022, class III went to Kamla Nehru Zoological Garden at 9:00 am. We went there with 5 teachers and 70 students by school bus. As a part of the unit “Adaptation to Food Habits”, we observed the feet, claws, beaks, and feathers of birds.
The students saw a variety of birds like parrots, spoonbills, and vultures to name a few. They closely observed the pelicans’ pouches and their webbed feet, helping them in wading and climbing. They also collected some of the feathers of these birds for closer observation. The students saw herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores and learned about their habitat and food habits. They also visited the other sections of the zoo.
The students illustrated and recorded their observations on a piece of a paper after visiting the aviary section.
It was a wonderful and amazing learning experience for the students.
