The 75th anniversary of India's independence will be celebrated this year on 15th August, 2022 to inspire pride and patriotism among all Indian citizens and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag. Our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has initiated a number of campaigns, including "Har Ghar Tiranga," to celebrate and remember the history of India's progress under the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
JGIS hosted the NWR competition from 1st August to 6th August, 2022 where reputed ISC schools participated. Students from Class VI to XII participated in Under 14, under 17 and under 19 categories.

The Independence Day of India is celebrated religiously throughout the country on the 15th of August every year. It holds tremendous ground in the list of national days since it reminds every Indian about the dawn of a new beginning, the beginning of an era of deliverance from the clutches of British colonialism of more than 200 years. It was on 15 th August, 1947, that India was declared independent from British colonialism, and the reins of control were handed over to the leaders of the country.
As it is well said, “The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals.”
India is a festival-rich nation. In India, numerous festivals are observed here. It seems like there is a festival every single week. Of all the festivals, Krishna Janmashtami is one of the few with a very high level of significance and importance.
It was a unique experience for the students of JGIS, on 23rd August,2022. Unique, because we had the young and dynamic Lieutenant Commander, Pulkit Soni, ADC to the Governor of Gujarat, visit our school. He addressed the students on ‘The Armed Forces as a Career’, and held a very interesting interactive session with them. He briefed the young audience how a career in the Armed Forces is a lucrative and gratifying one.
