JG MUN 5.0 - 2024
JGMUN 5.0 hosted on 13th and 14th of July 2024, was an event that will be embedded in all the delegates’ minds forever, especially JGIS students.
The event began with an opening ceremony that consisted of a wonderful performance by the school choir, lighting of the lamp, and speeches given by the Secretary General and the Director General. Once all delegates had assembled in their respective committees, the Executive Board members conducted a thorough ROP session for all first timers, which helped the delegates immensely.
Day 1 went by without a hitch. By the end, everyone was well versed with the functioning of MUN’s, and even the first timers had spoken at least once. It was particularly exhilarating to watch the students speak up in committee sessions. Feedback given by the EB was duly noted and worked upon by the Organizing Committee.
On day 2, the campus was buzzing with excitement. The event was in full swing with engaging discussions taking place in each committee. Noteworthy moments included the dissolution of the WHO by the unanimous decision of the UNSC, announced dramatically at the WHO press conference by the Secretary and Director General. Meanwhile, throughout the day, the smooth conduct of the event was ensured by the Organizing Committee that worked tirelessly and efficiently.
The event was wrapped up by an awards ceremony that was eagerly awaited by all. Everyone cheered the winners wholeheartedly, and the chairs expressed their gratitude to the school for conducting such an event. After the Secretary and Director General’s speeches, an after-movie was played, which incorporated all the exciting press conferences and other moments of the whole MUN.
Overall, JGMUN 5.0 was a great success. After hosting more than 200 delegates and 12 chairs from different cities of India, we look forward to hosting more of such events in the near future.
