‘Living in the age of science or pseudoscience’
Students of Class III Sky presented the prevalence of superstitions in the society and its impact on day to day life through a skit. The situations that were responsible for birth of superstitions and the importance of traditions were explained by adding an element of humour to the skit.

Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor on 15th August, 2019.
On that day the national flag was hoisted by the chairman, Shri. John Geevarghese in the presence of dignitaries from Asia Charitable Trust, the Principals and staff members of various institutions run by the Trust. The Head Boy and the Head Girl presented a speech suited to the occasion. A patriotic song was sung followed by a dance performance by our students. The event culminated with the Chairman’s address.
Class l Venus got an opportunity to showcase their class presentation on “Germs”. This presentation was aimed at getting the students understand the importance of health and hygiene. They learnt about benefits and harmful effects of germs. Students developed many skills through this presentation. They confidently walked on the ramp explaining the uses of products for staying healthy. The talent of the students was encouraged by the audience.

The students of Class II Narmada put a presentation in the assembly on “ Hope for the Earth ” on 24th July 2019. Students showcased the importance of protecting the Mother Earth so that our future generations can live in a safe environment. They tried to give a message on how animals and their habitat are threatened by human act through a skit. Following the 3R rule :Reduce, Reuse, Recycle can prove to be very effective in saving our precious earth. The students pledged to plant a sapling each to curb pollution and reduce global warming.
“Childhood- A Celebration of life”
The crucial message of “Child is meant to Learn not to Earn” was put up in the form of a presentation by class III Water.
They represented a fundamental abuse of childrens’ rights which are a violation of various laws. Many working children are engaged in occupations that negatively affect their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. This was presented through a skit and mime.
With an intention to give words and expressions to emotions and recreate the beauty of poetry on stage, JG International School, hosted the Inter-school recitation Competition ‘Poems Out Loud’ on 19th July, 2019. Twenty-nine reputed schools with 112 contestants from across Gujarat participated in the competition.
The competition was held in three categories, Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior. It was also decided that JG International school, being the host school, would not claim any of the awards.
Children of Sr. KG Marigold and Jasmine visited Akshaypatra, located at Bhadaj, on Friday 12/07/2019 during school hours.
We the students of grade III visited the training centre of 108 on 12th of July, 2019 as a part of our social studies unit, “Safety and first-aid”. The trainer explained about three kinds of burns, how to give first-aid at different situations such as insect bite, breathing problem, bleeding etc. She also explained about their six projects.
JG International School, Ahmedabad bestows upon its students the ability to be the future leaders of the world. The investiture ceremony for the session 2019-20 was yet again a special occasion where the young talents of the school were bestowed with the responsibility of leading their school with commitment, confidence and competence. The school held the ceremony with great enthusiasm. It was the occasion where the young students were all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted to them by the school.
JG International school celebrated its 15th birthday on Friday, 21st June, 2019. The celebration began with the lighting of the lamp, which was followed by the JG Anthem. Later, the school choir presented a melodious song after which there was a graceful dance performed by the students.
Class IV had organized an educational trip to Gokul Water Purification Plant, Gota on 16th April, 2019. The purpose for this trip was to learn more about water purification under our Programme of Inquiry topic “Water”.
This water plant is divided into four divisions. First we went to the Bottle Making Unit, where they took thick plastic test tubes called Preform in a blowing machine. The preform expanded due to high heat and air pressure and took the shape of a bottle.
We the students of Class IV visited The Vichaar Utensil Museum, Vishala on12th April, 2019. We went there to observe variety of precious utensils which reflects our culture, heritage, lifestyle and traditions of the ancient era. The museum was one of its kind in its village-like environment in the city. It took almost 38 years for the connoisseur, Mr. Surendrabhai Patel to collect these utensils.
This place is visited by many celebrities and famous personalities like Indira Gandhi, Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, M.S. Dhoni and many more.
We the students of Grade II went to Children’s Traffic Park on 11th April, 2019 as a part of “Communication Unit” to learn about signage and traffic rules.
First, we watched videos about Traffic rules. We learnt that while driving we should wear seat belt and should not use phone. We should not run on road and should see left and right before crossing the road. We should not be in hurry while boarding a bus and should not take our hands or head out of the moving bus or car.
