The final day of the JGIS Lit Fest 2020 began with an introduction to the short story, The Canterville Ghost, by Oscar Wilde. Two students, Manav and Angaj introduced the story as well as the chief guest with a rap song.
The students of class 8 ICSE presented the story of Sir Simon, the ghost, in an entertaining and creative manner. They tried to convey the message, “When we do something wrong to others, our soul would not get peace even after passing from the world.”
The day 7 of the JGIS Literature Festival was a successful journey, full of entertainment, humour and wit. The students of class 7 ICSE had put up a dramatic representation of the story ‘A Hero’ from the novel Malgudi Schooldays by R.K Narayan.
The students successfully put forth the message that, “If one has courage he can do anything, strength and age are never a barrier for a courageous person.”
On day 6 of the Lit-Fest, students of Grade VI showcased a novel ‘The Phantom Tollbooth’ by Norton Juster.
Students took the initiative to read and analyze the novel over the time of this academic year. Towards the end, the team collaborated and put up the important glimpses of the story. They portrayed the relationship of numbers and words and even the importance of time in our life.
Mr. Himanshu Nainani, a correspondent and a copywriter graced the event as a chief guest for the day.
‘The Best Days of My Life, a novel written by Ms. Scharada Dubey , was read by the students of grade V throughout the year. The novel was brought alive by the students in the form of a play and dance. The Chief guest for the day was Ms. Uma Oza , an immensely talented and deeply committed person. She is a teacher educator and a personal growth facilitator. A special invitation was given to the parents too, to witness the show and encourage the students.
The most awaiting fourth day of the JGIS Lit Fest began with the introduction of the novel The Charlie and The Great Glass Elevator in the form of wrap performed by Simran Nanavati and Preesha Chanderia , which was again brilliantly composed by them.
The spectacular event of the day was ‘Swami and Friends’ performed by J.G International students of Grade IV from R.K Narayan’s collection of Malgudi days. It was marvelous to be a part of the third edition of the Lit – Fest.
Day 2 of the Lit Fest had students of grade II presenting their novel “The Jungle Book” by Rudyard Kipling in the form of dance and drama.
The guest for the day was Mahnaz Damania. She is trained in the craft of stage and camera acting. She had the opportunity to study and perform in short feature films and Broadway plays. She has worked for television series, short films, TVCs and online viral, among other media.
As a part of Literature Fest week at JG International School, students of class 1 presented their novel “The Great Story Teller” by Ken Spillman in the form of dance and drama on 3rd February, 2020. The chief guest for the day was Ms. Darsha Kikani, member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, UK and Fellow Member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
On the auspicious morning of 26th January, 2020 JG International School celebrated the 71st Republic Day in the school premises. It was a matter of great pride for all of us. The programme began with the welcoming of the esteemed guests followed by the flag hoisting. The chairman gave his blessings on this special occasion.
Expressions- a carnival of creations was a genuine and enriching, journey of experimenting, learning and experiencing various subjects from multiple angles and approaches for students from Kindergarten to grade XII, across all the Boards.
The exhibition was organized on 25th January, 2020 and was inaugurated by one of our parents, in the presence of other esteemed guests.
Class VIII students from both the boards ICSE and Checkpoint , nearly thirty in number , accompanied by three teachers went for a week-long excursion to Dalhousie and Amritsar on Jan6, 2020
JG International School organized their Annual Sports Day on 4th January, 2020 with great enthusiasm and excitement. Around 300 students from class III to XII participated in various races like 50mtrs flat race, 100mtrs, 200mtrs and relay for the final day events. The highlight of the day was the School Relay and teachers’ games. The Executive Director, Mr. M.P. Chandran, Principal, Dr.Kavita Sharma and the Parents were invited to witness the event and cheer the children.
JGIS celebrated its 16th Annual Day on 23rd December, 2019. Ms. Preetha Sunil, the Assistant Commissioner of AMC (a JGIS parent), was the Chief Guest. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chairman of ASIA Charitable Trust, Dr. John Geeverghese, President, and the Executive Director Mr. M.P. Chandran.
The third edition of JGMUN was met with gusto by everyone. The day started off with registrations, followed shortly by the opening ceremony and the lighting of the lamp to mark the auspicious occasion. Our Principal addressed all those attending the conference with a short yet sweet speech. The conference was then declared open with the thud of a gavel by the Secretary General, Mr. Ujjwal Agrawal.
