TEDxYouth@JGIS - 2025
The seventh edition of TEDxYouth@JGIS, held on 11th October 2025 at JG International School, emerged as a resounding success, carrying forward its tradition of celebrating ideas that inspire meaningful change. Guided by the theme “Beyond the Horizon: Where Imagination Meets Possibilities,” the evening paid homage to curiosity, creativity and the courage to dream beyond boundaries.
The event began with a brief reminder of TEDx protocols, setting an atmosphere of thoughtful anticipation. The programme opened with the JG Anthem, followed by a graceful Ganesh Vandana performed by Grade XII student Debangi Dey, which filled the space with serenity and spiritual warmth. Principal and organiser, Dr. Kavita Sharma, then delivered a reflective prelude underscoring the value of imagination, inquiry and meaningful dialogue in shaping a purposeful and innovative future.
This year’s theme invited the audience to view the horizon not as a limit but as a beginning—a place where new ideas and possibilities unfold. The lineup of speakers truly embodied this vision.
- Ms. Kavya Rawal, popular radio jockey and storyteller at 104 Mirchi Love, opened with an introspective talk titled “The Power of Silence.” She reminded listeners that silence holds not emptiness but space for awareness, grounding, and clarity.
- Dr. M. P. Chandran, President of JG University and Chairman of ASIA Charitable Trust, followed with his talk “Inner Conscience.” Drawing upon decades of leadership, he reflected on the guiding presence of one’s moral compass. His words found perfect harmony with a soothing musical interlude by Mr. Subodh Acharya.
- Ms. Shalini Jaiswal, educator and school leader, shared her reflections on happiness, highlighting compassion, resilience, and relationships as its true foundations.
- Master Agastya Sharma, IBDP student of JGIS, struck a relatable chord with his candid talk on burnout. Speaking from personal experience, he emphasised the need to recognise stress and prioritise wellbeing while balancing multiple responsibilities. His message resonated deeply with both students and adults.
- A lively dance performance by JGIS students then infused renewed energy into the evening.
- The final speaker, Ms. Sonal Ambani, internationally acclaimed sculptor and designer, concluded the session with her inspiring talk “Beyond Horizon — You Can Do Anything.” Through her journey, she encouraged audiences to transcend limitations and believe in their boundless potential.
The evening culminated in an interactive open house session, allowing the audience to engage directly with the speakers. A heartfelt vote of thanks followed, acknowledging the contribution of the speakers, staff, and the dedicated TEDxYouth@JGIS student team. The event drew to a close with the National Anthem—an inspiring finale to an evening that celebrated imagination, reflection, and the endless possibilities that lie just beyond the horizon.
