Inter House English Declamation - 2022
Inter House Declamation Competition was organized for classes V to VIII to hone the oratory skills of the students. A declamation speech is the term used to describe the re-giving of an important or famous speech. This method of teaching was used in ancient Greece where public speaking was considered a necessary art for anybody embarking on a career in public service. The speaker re-interprets the original speech and reproduces its power afresh.
The event was held on 29th July 2022 (Friday). It was divided into two categories, Category I included classes V and VI and Category II included classes VII and VIII.
The students keenly participated and delivered impactful speeches by renowned speakers like APJ Abdul Kalam, Jeff Bezos, Megan Markle, Emma Watson, Malala, Sachin Tendulkar, Malala and many more.
The speeches grabbed the attention of audience. The feedback given by the judges Ms. Shibie Peter and Ms. Ruma Mitra was very precise and easy to put into practice. The anchors Chaarvi Jain and Manvi Sheth of class VIII were very confident and impressive.
The results were declared at the end. In category – I, there was a tie for the first position between Aniket Mohapatra of JB house and Abhyudaya Singh of RT house and second position was secured by Zainab Nagamia of RT house. In category – II, the first position went to Drishya Vaidya of CS house, the second position was secured by Tapasya Chaudhary of RT house and Manav Jethani of AS house won the third position.
The Principal, Dr. Kavita Sharma, appreciated the efforts of all the participants and encouraged other students too to come forward and participate in such events.
