JG International School presented its Annual Navratri extravaganza –  Garba  ni  Ramzat  on 13^th October, 2018. The auspicious event began with offering prayers to the Diety and performing  Aarti by our Honourable chairman ,  Shri John Gee Vargese and Executive Director Mr. M.P.Chandran.  The trustees and other managing committee members too graced the occasion. The event saw different performances  by students and staff members, giving various glimpses of traditional as well as modern form of garba.

Inter House Hindi Recitation Competition for the year 2018-19 was held on 5^th October, 2018. This was a platform provided to the students to present their linguistic skills. Students recited Hindi poems confidently.  The competition was conducted for two categories, the junior category having participants from grade I & II and the senior category having participants from grade III &  IV.

Children of Nursery visited the 5 Acres of Kindness farm located at the outskirts of the city at Gyaspur, 

It was related to their ongoing theme ‘Farm Animals’. 5 Acres of Kindness inculcates among the children, the values of empathy, respect and moral responsibility of taking care of sick and disabled animals around us. This farm is a wonderful initiative, under which, rescued animals of a wide variety, from Gujarat and neighbouring states, are housed. The rescue farm, is run by Animal HELP Foundation.

In an educative and fun filled trip, students visited the Post Office and learnt about the services provided by the Post Office to the public.

The children learnt about the different services available at the Post Office such as registered post, money order and speed post. Children were excited to see how the letters were stamped, sorted and put in different boxes and shelves.

Students of Class 3( Sky, Water and Earth) went to NEPRA Resources, a recycling unit on 20^th and 27^th September, 2018 respectively.  The visit was arranged to have an understanding of their unit in Social Studies- Environment and Natural Resources.  They observed the separation of wet and dry waste manually and through specialized machines.  The waste comprised of things made of plastic, metal and paper.  The students came to know the importance of proper disposal of the waste and the use of recycled materials.

The students of class IV prepared few models of various architectural structures on 26^th September, 2018 for constructing the JG Township as a part of their social studies unit – Mapping. By using the appropriate vocabulary, the students gave instructions to their classmates to reach a particular destination.

Students of IX and X went to Kullu Manali from 17^th September to 23^rd September, 2018. The tour was organized by Positive Seven. There were 38 students, 4 staff members from JG international school and 3 Escorts from Positive Seven. We started on 17^th evening and reached Manali on 19^th Morning. 

‘Moms and Dads at School’ of Pre Primary section was held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in the school auditorium. The timings were from 9.00am to 12.30 pm. The event was divided into 3 parts. The first part, “The Parenting Workshop” was taken by the Principal , Ms. Kavita Sharma and the second part was “ Teaching and Learning Practices” conducted by teachers of Nursery, Jr.KG and Sr.KG, and towards the end team building games were played with the parents.

The Inter house Hindi Declamation Competition for Juniors and Seniors was held on 14^th September, 2018.

The Judges for the competition were Ms. Minal Nayak and Ms. Deepti Upadhayay and Ms. Archana Chaurasia in Junior  and Senior category. There were 8 participants in each category.

Children of Sr.KG visited Khoj museum situated at Naranpura on Wednesday,12/09/2018.It was related to their theme ‘Our Universe’ and their class activity of creating and having fun with bubbles.

Khoj is the first dynamic children’s museum in India. It connects science, design & innovation by means of participatory displays. Unlike a regular museum where visitors don’t touch the display, at Khoj children are encouraged to participate and play with the displayed activities.

On 7^th September, we had the Inter House Quiz competition  in the school auditorium. The competition was held in two categories., i.e Seniors and Juniors.

The Junior Quiz was Conducted by Ms Ruma Mitra. AS house team was the winner. The second position was jointly secured by RT House and CS House.

The Senior Quiz was conducted by Ms Kavita Rajesh. The students of the CS House secured the first position. The second position was bagged by RT House, followed by AS House in the third position.

Children learn by playing, and toys are the instruments that allow them to discover the world they live in. And this is precisely what they interact with their surroundings through toys. Additionally, toys provide plenty of enjoyment and happiness, both of which help build their self- esteem.
