Republic Day Celebration - 2018

69th Republic Day was celebrated in JGIS premises on 26th January, 2018. The programme began with welcoming the guest viz. honourable Chairman, Shri John Geevargese, President ASIA,  Mr. K.L.N. Sastri, Secretary, Mr. K.P.M Nair, Trustee and Executive Director Mr. M. P.Chandran, other trustees, members of managing committee followed by flag hoisting. The cultural program began with a patriotic song by schools ‘choir students followed by two dance performances as a beautiful expression and dedication to our nation.

JG Model United Nations Closing Ceremony - 2018

JGIS organized the Closing Ceremony of JG Model United Nations Conference in the school auditorium on 21st January, 2018. After a short thank you speech by the Principal of the host school, Ms. Kavita Sharma, the anchor invited on stage, the Executive Board members of the five simulated committees for the much-awaited moment – the Award Ceremony. They thanked the school for organizing such an event of this magnitude and congratulated the organizing committee for successfully hosting MUN.

JG Model United Nations Conference:Opening Ceremony - 2018

‘Freedom is hammered out on the anvil of discussion, dissent and debate’ -Hubert Humphrey. We at JGIS believe in inculcating a strong set of skills in research, public speaking and team work. We aim to transform our learners into concerned global citizens who make a significant change in the society. With this aim in mind, JGIS decided to host its first edition of JG Model United Nations Conference. The event is inaugurated with a gathering of over 250 delegates on 20th and 21st January, 2018.

Field Trip to Kankaria Zoo (Grade I) - 2018

An educational trip was organized to Kankaria zoo on 19thJanuary, 2018, Friday for students of grade I as a part of EVS unit “Animals”. It was an experiential learning where in the children got acquainted with different types of animals . Children observed and explored various kinds of animals like mammals, reptiles, birds, etc. and their characteristics. They also observed a special section of nocturnal animals and was amazed. It was a wonderful experience for the children.

 

Field Trip to Factory of Ramdev Snacks (Grade XI) - 2018

Living in Ahmedabad, Ramdev Spices and snacks is name we are very familiar with, and today students of class 11 ISC Commerce and Humanities and IBDP-1 were given the opportunity to visit the office and factory of Ramdev Snacks! Here, they witnessed the functioning of the administrative and production units of the company. The purpose of the visit was to develop a better and more practical understanding of economics and business related concepts. This trip surely served the purpose.

Inter House English Recitation (I-IV) - 2018

An Inter House Junior English Poem Recitation Competition was organized on 5th January, 2018 in school auditorium for two categories, first category-Classes I and II and second category-Classes III and IV. This activity was organized to explore and encourage the speaking skills and confidence in children. It inspired children to come forward and recite on stage. The judgment was made by two of the judges Ms. Steffi Thomas and Ms. Mitisha Lalwani.

Field Trip to Kankaria (Nursery) - 2018

There are millions of animal species on Earth, therefore it is important to be able to identify them and understand about their habitats and characteristics so that we can coexist with them. With the theme of Wild animals and Sea Creatures going on in the class, children visited Kankaria Zoo and aquarium for better understanding. They saw wild animals like elephants, tiger, lion, jackal, bears etc. Sea animals and reptiles like crocodile, rhinoceros, variety of fishes, tortoise and water snakes were also seen.

Workshop on Netwoking & Cyber Security for IBDP I & II - 2018

Alumni Shivam Trivedi, pursuing his graduation in Purdue University gave a guest lecture about Networking and the working of the Internet to the ITGS students of IBDP I and IBDP II. He colloquially explained Network Management, Internet Security and Network Infrastructure and the Physical Layers of Networking. He was accompanied by Ms. Lauren Featherstun who also is a fellow student at Purdue University and also the head of the Network Security Student Club.

 

JG Cup Closing - 2017

The Closing Ceremony of the 10th JG Cup football tournament was held on 30th December 2017. This year we had hosted 24 teams from all over Gujarat in both the Under 14 and Open categories. The final matches of both the categories were held on 30th December and were witnessed by the dignitaries who later gave away the medals, prize money and Trophies to the winners. In both the categories, the Best Goal Keeper and The Best Player received a trophy, a certificate and a prize money 1000 rupees.

JG Cup Opening - 2017

The Opening Ceremony of the tenth JG Cup Football Tournament 2017 was organized by JGIS on 26th December, 2017. This mega event spanning 5 days had 24 teams participating and competing under two categories under 14 inter school for boys and inter school open category for boys from all over Gujarat. 

Christmas Celebration

Christmas was celebrated in a joyful way at JGIS on 20th December 2017. The portico was decorated with Christmas tree and crib.   It was organized in the Auditorium started with the school prayer followed by the songs by the students then the teachers sung the choir song wishing them happy Christmas and the program ended with distribution of toffees by the Santa Claus. The children were very happy after attending the Christmas celebrations.
