The most awaited event after two years, the 3rd edition of JGIS Lit Fest began with the lighting of the lamp by our Chairman Dr. M.P. Chandran. The novel Charlie and The Great Glass Elevator was introduced in the form of a TV show performed by Rudraksh Paitandi, Naisha Patel, and Advait Anandharaman, which was a brilliant opening of the event by them.
JG International School celebrated India’s 74th Republic Day, on 26th January, 2023 with immense patriotic fervour. The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Principal, Dr. Kavita Sharma. The Chairman, Dr. M.P. Chandran unfurled the National Flag, followed by the dignitaries joining in for the National Anthem. Students of classes VI and VII presented a melodious group song followed by two beautifully choreographed group dance presented by the students of classes VI, VII and VIII.
On 21st January, 2023, Saturday, JG International School had organised its Carnival, ‘Expressions – An Arena of Creations and Innovations’. This event exhibited the talents of the students in various Academic concepts and Co- Curricular Activities for which they were trained all through the year. The carnival included Open House, where the students of Pre-Primary displayed the academic concepts they had learnt, in a creative way.
The Fete Fiesta organized on our school ground on 20th and 21st January, 2023, was a grand success. It was a part of the students’ extracurricular activities. Students with the guidance and assistance from their teachers set up multiple stalls of some interesting fun games like Lucky Seven, Flip O’ Fun, Smash the Spire, Score a Goal etc.
A ‘Blessing Ceremony’ for the students of classes X and XII [ISC], IGCSE, AS, A Level and
IBDP II was held on 16th January, 2023.
The ceremony began with a prayer song sung by the students of classes IV and V which was followed by speeches from the coordinators of various sections to encourage the students and bless them.
The ceremony ended with the Principal and the Chairman’s speech that inspired and guided students to do their best in the Board Examinations.
JG International school celebrated Sports Day on 7th January, 2023. Preparation and selection for the Sports Day had started a month ago. Classes III to XII had participated in various events like 50mtrs, 100mtrs, 200mtrs, long jump, high jump and the most hyped 'Relay' were the events for the day. There were some games for teachers and school D-staff as well.
The students of grade VII and VIII set off on their journey to Jaisalmer with their teachers. The excitement in the air was almost tangible. Non-stop chatter and laughter were heard from every compartment. After checking in at the hotel at noon, the students visited Gadisar Lake in the evening. They took pictures, shopped for souvenirs and watched a light and sound show.
The Inter House Hindi Poem recitation was held on 6th January, 2023. It was organized in three categories: first category consisting of students of class I & II, second category consisting of students of class III & IV and third category consisting of students of class V & VI.

An interactive session was conducted by Mr. Kasif Abbasi and Ms. Pankti from JG University for classes XI and XII on 27th December, 2022. Mr. Abbasi briefed the students through a power point presentation about the New Education Policy and the various courses available at JG University. He also clarified the doubts and answered the queries of the students related to internship and job prospects.
JGIS celebrated its 17th Annual Day on 23rd December, 2022 with pomp and show. Dr. Hitesh Patel (a JGIS parent) was the Chief Guest of the evening. The occasion was graced by the Chairman of ASIA Charitable Trust, Dr. M. P. Chandran, Secretary, ACT, Mr. Joy Jose, Treasurer, ACT, Mr. KLN Sastry, President, ASIA, Mr. TVS Ram, Secretary, ASIA, Mr. VD. Prabhakaran, the Trustees, Mr.Venugopal Rao, Mr. Alex Lukose and Mr. Jose Mathew.
Carol Singing Competition at YMCA was held on 17th December, 2022 (Saturday). Once again we are delighted that our School’s Choirs both Junior and Senior got Second Positions. Both the Choirs were led by Music Teachers. Mr. Alan Noel Newme, where 13 students took part in the Senior Choir (Secondary Section) and 15 students participated in Junior Choir (Primary Section). Mr. Ruchir Joshi and Mr. Gyan Oza were the musicians for the Junior Choir.
On 16th December, 2022, Friday, Christmas Day Celebration was organised in the school’s auditorium for class I to VIII. The junior and the senior school’s choir sang melodious Christmas carol – ‘Beautiful Star of Bethlehem’ and ‘Carol of the Bells’ respectively. The carols added joy to the festive spirit of Christmas. As is the tradition, Santa Claus entertained the students and distributed toffees to them. Manya Shah, a student of IBDP II had dressed up as Santa.
The never-ending water body is filled with various aquatic animals that are interesting, unique, and mysterious. Although we have explored only five percent of the water bodies, we have already discovered around 230,000 species.
The students of Class IV went to visit the museum at Vishala restaurant on 22nd November, 2022. The trip was arranged to study the ancient artefacts which were made and used 500 to 1000 years ago. The objective of this trip was to expose the students visually so that they relate to the Stone Age Unit in Social Studies.
