The spirit of patriotism came alive at JG International School as the school community came together to commemorate India’s 80th Independence Day with pride, reverence and enthusiasm on 15th August, 2026. Students, teachers, parents, trustees and distinguished guests gathered to celebrate the nation’s journey and honour the sacrifices that have shaped its destiny.
The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag, followed by the National Anthem, creating a solemn and inspiring atmosphere. The occasion was also a heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces whose courage and dedication continue to protect the nation.
The presence of the Trustees of the Asia Charitable Trust, members of the Managing Committee of ASIA and other esteemed guests added significance to the celebration. Our Principal Dr. Kavita Sharma welcomed the gathering and urged everyone to embrace the values of unity, inclusivity and responsible citizenship in the pursuit of a progressive India.
The School Captain reflected on the significance of freedom and encouraged students to become responsible citizens who contribute positively to society. The Chairman, ACT, Dr. M. P. Chandran, shared an inspiring message, reminding the gathering that the strength of a nation lies in its unity, collective responsibility and commitment to a better future.
Adding colour and energy to the occasion, the students presented a captivating cultural programme celebrating the many colours of India. Graceful dances showcased the country’s rich cultural heritage, while the patriotic choir stirred emotions and evoked a deep sense of national pride.
The celebration was more than a commemoration—it was a reminder of the responsibilities that accompany freedom. As the gathering concluded, everyone carried with them a renewed pledge to cherish the nation’s values, promote harmony and contribute towards building a stronger and brighter India.
